Block Transfer by Approved Associate Degrees

Students who matriculate after completing an approved Washington DTA, Oregon AAOT, or California AA‑T/AS‑T with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher are awarded 16.00 units of transfer credit and are considered to have completed both first‑year seminars and the three Divisional graduation requirements.

Special Regulations for Transfer Applicability

Puget Sound distinguishes between the first 16 units (first and sophomore years) and the last 16 units (junior and senior years) of baccalaureate work for transfer purposes.
Credit from the following sources is acceptable only within the first‑16‑unit limit and subject to all other transfer limits: coursework from accredited colleges or universities; Advanced Placement (AP); International Baccalaureate (IB); college coursework completed in high school (e.g., Running Start, College in the High School, and other concurrent‑enrollment programs).
Once a student has 16.00 or more units posted, credit from the above first‑ and sophomore‑level sources may not be applied to the Puget Sound degree.
No dual enrollment. Credit is not granted for dual enrollment or simultaneous matriculation at two or more institutions.
Questions about unusual coursework not typically offered in baccalaureate programs are evaluated for equivalency by the appropriate academic units; decisions may be petitioned to the Academic Standards Committee.
